Blue is one of my favorite colors. Each piece is hand-built from many different types of glass and then full fused. Next a special gig is set-up in the kiln to slump (bend) the glass as it heats up. Each side is done in a separate firing. The glass is observed to determine the right time to stop the slumping process.

This sculpture stands over 10 inches tall and is 1 1/2 inches wide. Yet, the design transmits color and light as if you're looking through a watercolor painting.

Blue petals floating in a sea of clear water. At only 2 inches in diameter, this pocket sculpture transmits you to a tranquil place.

Stella Schloss has been creating art for over 30 years. Originally a metalsmith focused on jewelry, Stella took her first fused glass class in the early 1990s.

Exposure to experts near and far cultivated a strong interest in working with warm glass. Recently retired from the healthcare field, Stella is focusing on creative ways to bridge her love of fused glass and metal together.

She is also an instructor at the Glass Arts Collective, sharing what she has learned with others.
